We were asked by the Tech Museum in Silicon Valley to produce a series of films profiling the fifteen 2010 Tech Award Laureates, innovators using technology for humanitarian purposes. Sponsored by Intel, Nokia, Microsoft, and BD Bioscience, the films would first be shown as part of the Tech Award's Tenth Anniversary celebration. The challenge was twofold: How to convey the spirit of the nominee's project in 90 seconds and how to produce all fifteen profiles in the time between the laureates' arrival and the awards evening six days later. We built a studio in the museum's basement and using a combination of live interviews, stunning photography and rear screen projection created five inspiring films that became the highlight of the event.
